Life Ur Way is a locally owned and operated innovative NDIS Disability Support Provider. We currently service from Babinda through to Cardwell and surrounds, and our business continues to grow and expand. Since Life Ur Way’s inception in 2018, we have grown from a small two-person operation into a thriving business employing 90 local staff of all ages and backgrounds. We provide a wide range of Disability Support services to local NDIS participants and their families to help them achieve quality of life and to live life their way.

About the role
The Programs Officer is responsible for planning and running programs including group activities, group outings and other programs as required. These programs are delivered to Life Ur Way’s NDIS Participants and Aged Care clientson a regular basis. The ideal person for this role would be someone who is creative, organised and able to think outside the box.
This role will be classed as ‘casual’ upon commencement, with hours to be negotiated based on our growing business needs. There may be the opportunity for permanent employment in the future for the right applicant.

Who can apply

Previous experience in the disability sector, and/or relevant qualifications is desirable. You must also be able meet the requirements to obtain an NDIS Worker Screening Check and Police Check upon commencement.

Duties include:

  • Planning and implementation of regular group activities, outings, and other programs for our NDIS Participants and Aged Care clients, with an emphasis on
    • building capacity
    • challenging & growing their abilities
    • learning new skills 
    • building friendships
    • having fun 
  • Organising and purchasing of supplies and resources within designated budgets 
  • Working collaboratively with fellow Life Ur Way staff, NDIS Participants, Aged Care clients and their families to ensure program attendance and uptake is maximised 
  • Working in accordance with the policies and procedures, work health and safety procedures and client right’s policies including privacy and confidentiality.

What are we looking for:

  • Qualification within the disability and/or aged care industry (minimum Certificate III) is desirable, but not essential 
  • A creative and innovative approach to your work 
  • Being adaptable to changing circumstances and being able to prioritize work
  • Ability to collaborate with others to achieve common goals
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
