Life Ur Way is a locally owned and operated innovative NDIS Disability Support Provider. We currently service from Babinda through to Cardwell and surrounds, and our business continues to grow and expand. Since Life Ur Way’s inception in 2018, we have grown from a small two-person operation into a thriving business employing more than 80 local staff of all ages and backgrounds. We provide a wide range of Disability Support services to local NDIS participants and their families to help them achieve quality of life and to live life their way.
About the role
The Intake Officer is responsible for undertaking and coordinating the intake process for NDIS participants into the service, as well as reviewing and updating each Participant’s paperwork and information every 12 months. The Intake Officer works closely with the Rostering team, Management, Administration Staff, Support Workers, Participants and their families to meet the needs and requirements of Life Ur Way Participants to help them to achieve their NDIS goals. This is a permanent, fulltime position.

As the first point of contact for Participants entering our service, the right person for this role will be friendly, approachable, compassionate, and flexible. An understanding approach to working with people with disabilities and their families is vital. You will also be highly organised and able to manage your own work priorities.

Previous experience in the disability sector, and/or relevant qualifications is also desirable. You must also be able meet the requirements to obtain an NDIS Worker Screening Check and Police Check upon commencement.
Duties include
- Greeting and responding to new service enquiries
- Making appointments and managing personal work priorities
- Completing relevant intake paperwork and gathering relevant information
- Referral to external agencies as required
- Working in consultation with colleagues to ensure new service enquiries are managed professionally and in a timely manner
- Other duties as required
What are we looking for
- A friendly and positive attitude!
- Sound judgement and capacity to work with a high level of autonomy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong time management skills with the ability to manage conflicting priorities
- Knowledge of NDIS plans and processes is desirable, but not essential
- Experience in the Disability field is highly desirable
