Life Ur Way is a locally owned and operated innovative NDIS Disability Support Provider. We currently service from Babinda through to Cardwell and surrounds, and our business continues to grow and expand. Since Life Ur Way’s inception in 2018, we have grown from a small two-person operation into a thriving business employing 90 local staff of all ages and backgrounds. We provide a wide range of Disability Support services to local NDIS participants and their families to help them achieve quality of life and to live life their way.

About the role
A Support Coordinator’s role is to show all available and practical options to their NDIS Participants to ensure they have choice and remain in control of their supports. They will also provide their recommendations based on what options will be best for each individual’s circumstances to assist in decision-making.

Who can apply
We invite all suitable applicants to apply for this position. Previous experience in the disability sector, and/or relevant qualifications is also desirable. You must also be able meet the requirements to obtain an NDIS Worker Screening Check and Police Check upon commencement.

Duties include

  • Assist Participants to build capacity to connect with informal, community and funded supports, enabling Participants to get the most from their plan and achieve their goals. 

  • Assist Participants in building the skills needed to understand, implement and use NDIS plans.

  • Work with Participants to ensure a mix of supports are used to increase capacity to maintain relationships, manage service delivery tasks, live more independently and be included in community.

  • Help build Participants ability to exercise choice and control, to coordinate supports and access local community.

  • Assist participants to negotiate with providers about what they will offer and how much it will cost out of individual plans.

  • Ensure service agreements and relevant paperwork is completed.

  • Ensure all reporting is completed in accordance with NDIS requirements.

  • Work in accordance with the policies and procedures, work health and safety procedures and client right’s policies including privacy and confidentiality.

  • Other duties as required

What are we looking for:

  • Qualification within the disability industry (minimum Certificate IV) is highly desirable.

  • Experience in support coordination for people with complex needs is preferred.

  • Experience in the delivery of personal care services and/or challenging behaviours is desirable.

  • Being adaptable to changing circumstances and being able to prioritise work.

  • Commitment to social justice and inclusion and valuing difference and diversity.

  • High standard of personal integrity.

  • Ability to collaborate with others to achieve common goals.

  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
