Individualised Care

The staff at Life Ur Way aim at reducing the confusion and stress that surround Disability Support Services, the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA), and the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). Having an individualised approach allows for a strong relationship between you, your family, and loved ones as well as the carer. This relationship is fostered through trust, privacy, communication, and understanding; providing an atmosphere where you and your family make and communicate informed choices.

Life Ur Way offers a range of Disability Support Services as well as the ability to effectively co-ordinate supports, to reach your specific goals, as unique as they may be. Our staff understands that there could be an abundance of requirements specific to your needs, and it takes an approach that is just as compassionate as it is versatile.

Group and Centre-Based Activities

Our group and centre-based activities are designed to be safe, inclusive, and enjoyable. With a welcoming environment and a variety of options to choose from, you’ll have the opportunity to meet others, learn new skills, and experience the joy of shared interests. From creative workshops to social gatherings and recreational outings, there’s always something exciting happening. We’re here to make sure your experience is rewarding and tailored to your needs. Within daily living, comes the activities required to get us through. Waking up, getting ready, carrying out errands and tasks for that day, among an abundance of other activities such as:

  • Getting into or out of bed
  • Showering, dressing, and grooming
  • Toileting or continence management
  • Mobility
  • Meals
  • Medication management
  • Time management
  • Getting to and managing appointments
  • Shopping
  • Paying bills
  • Banking
  • Work preparation

Our highly professional staff have an abundance of experience in the development of daily living and life skills, to enable you to be as independent as possible. Some of the reasons you may require assistance are:

  • You cannot participate in daily tasks
  • You require respite care
  • You are unable to participate in some daily tasks
  • You can participate in daily tasks, but require some assistance
  • You currently can or cannot participate but want to further develop your skills to be able to live as independently as possible; increasing your ability to participate.


This service aims to assist you to attain your individual goals, while supporting you through achieving quality of life, health, and wellbeing. 

Daily tasks that you may need assistance with can include;

  • Gardening and other yard duties
  • Household cleaning
  • Cooking
  • Laundry
  • Dishwashing
  • House Maintenance
  • Personal activities.

This aims to remove some of the barriers that may prevent autonomy while introducing innovative ways to improve quality of life. Supports available also advocate your ability to use public transport, apply self-care, social skills, maintain hygiene, and even achieve job readiness.

Support Coordination

Having a planned approach towards life stage transitioning can alleviate a lot of the stress involved. These milestones can carry the need to adjust supports while improving skills along the way. This support service aims at strengthening your ability to coordinate supports, to enable you to live at home while participating within the community. These support services focus on:

  • support connection and coordination
  • assistance with accommodation and tenancy obligations
  • life transition planning including mentoring, peer support and individual skill development
  • assistance with decision making, daily planning, budgeting

Counselling / SLES / Finding & Keeping a Job

Counselling – for NDIS Participants

Some NDIS Participants can access Counselling services in line with their NDIS goals. Our qualified and compassionate staff provide a safe and supportive environment to help you navigate challenges, build resilience, and improve your overall wellbeing. We understand that everyone’s journey is different, and our approach is tailored to meet your individual needs. This service aims to support you in achieving your personal goals, while promoting emotional wellbeing, independence, and quality of life.

Areas of support may include:

  • Developing coping strategies
  • Emotional regulation and self-awareness
  • Building confidence and self-esteem
  • Social and relationship skills
  • Managing stress and anxiety
  • Goal setting and personal development

This service is available to participants who have the appropriate funding within their NDIS plan. If you are unsure whether you can access this support, our team is more than happy to review your plan with you and provide guidance.

Some NDIS Participants can access support through the School Leavers Employment Scheme (SLES) / Finding and Keeping a Job in line with their NDIS goals. Our highly professional staff have extensive experience supporting participants to build the skills needed to find and maintain meaningful employment, empowering you to work towards greater independence and confidence in the workplace. Some of the reasons you may require assistance are:

  • You are unsure where to start when looking for work
  • You need support developing job-ready skills
  • You have difficulty gaining or maintaining employment
  • You require assistance with workplace communication and expectations
  • You would like to build confidence in a work environment
  • You want to increase your independence and ability to participate in employment opportunities

 

This service aims to support you to achieve your employment goals, while enhancing your confidence, independence, and overall wellbeing. Employment-related supports may include:

  • Resume and job application assistance
  • Interview preparation and practice
  • Workplace communication skills
  • Travel training to and from work
  • Time management and organisational skills
  • On-the-job support and mentoring
